Answer:

if the final velocity (V) is less that the initial velocity (U)

the acceleration is Negative.

Example

if the final velocity is 5

and the initial velocity 7

and the time is 2

the acceleration will be = V-u/t

= 5-7/2

= -2/2

= -1

thus we can say that if the final velocity is less than the initial velocity the acceleration of that body will be negative
