Given:

First three terms of a proportion are 5,15,4;?

To Find:

find the fourth term.

Solution:

Let the fourth term be x

First three terms of a proportion are 5,15,4,x

\Rightarrow 5:15::4:x\\\Rightarrow \frac{5}{15}=\frac{4}{x}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{4 \times 15}{5}\\\Rightarrow x=12

Hence The fourth term is 12
