Explanation:
Though some fish can breathe on land taking oxygen from air, most of the fish, when taken out of water, suffocate and die. This is because gill arches of fish collapse, when taken out of water, leaving the blood vessels no longer exposed to oxygen in air.

Some fishes are there who can live without water or in less water for long like killifish and Amur carp . Mangrova Rivulous can live for weeks . On the other hand some fishes like hilsa and loita cannot live for long without water. so, different fishes has different reaction without water and hence there is no specific Answer which describes all the fishes at the same time for your question.
