In an AP nth term (an) = a + (n-1)d
5th term, a₅ = a+ (5-1)d ⇒ a+4d
8th term ,a₈ = a+(8-1)d ⇒ a+7d
∴ 5(a₅)m= 8(a₈)
⇒5( a+4d) = 8( a +7d)
⇒ a = -12d
13th term, a₁₃ = a+12d
-12d + 12d =0
hence proved !!!
