Two consecutive integers will be 'x' and 'x+1'

so we can write an equation as:

5x+3(x+1)=59

multiplying using distributive property.

5x+3x+3=59

adding like terms.

8x+3=59

subtracting 3 from both sides.

8x=56

dividing both sides by 8.

x=7

the other integer will be:

7-1=8
