If for a certain body, under certain conditions, the coefcient of  absorption is 0.2 and the coefcient of refection is 0.5, what is the  coefcient of transmission​

To find : the coefficient of transmission is ..

solution : we know,

r + a + t = 1

where r = coefficient of reflection

a = coefficient of absorption

t = coefficient of transmission

here, coefficient of absorption = a = 0.2

coefficient of reflection = r = 0.5

∴ coefficient of transmission = t = 1 - r - a = 1 - 0.5 - 0.2 = 0.3

therefore the coefficient of transmission is 0.3.
