Y = stress/ strain = force/area x strain

Since, strain has no units

Y by taking force, area , density as fundamental units
Y = [ f¹ a⁻¹ d⁰]

Fundamental units are a set of unrelated units of measurement. Young’s modulus is the elastic modulus we use for deformation which takes place when a force which is parallel to the axis of the object is applied to one face while the opposite face is held fixed by another equal force.

Y = stress / strain

= force / area x strain
