The value of θ and P is 90° and 20 N.

Explanation:

On equilibrium of 'O',

Along the horizontal side, we get,

P sin θ = 10 + (10√2 cos 45)

P sin θ = 20 → (Equation 1)

Along the vertical side, we get,

P cos θ + 10 = 10√2 sin 45 = 10

P cos θ = 0 → (Equation 2)

Since, P ≠ 0, cos θ = 0

∴ θ = 90°

On substituting the value of 'θ' in equation (1), we get,

P sin 90° = 20

P (1) = 20

∴ P = 20 N
