SOLUTION :

Let f(x) = Dividend ,  g(x) = Divisor

g(x) = quadratic polynomial

Given :

g(x) = ax² + bx + c

Degree of f(x) = 4

Degree of g(x) = 2

Degree of quotient q(x) = (4 - 2) = 2

The degree of Remainder r(x) is of degree 1 or less than 1

Hence, The degree of remainder r(x) is equal to 1 or less than 1 .
