if friends are just suppoter of life then why we give too much importance to them

Most of our friends are of the same age group we belong so children tend to share all of their problems with thei friends because they think that belonging to the same age group will be more relevant than asking the parents for real advice. This is why we give more importance to our friends even if they are just the suporters of our life.
