SOLUTION

GIVEN

\displaystyle \sf{ g(x) =  \frac{x + 1}{x - 2}   \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \: h(x) = 4 - x}

TO DETERMINE

\displaystyle \sf{ (g \circ h)( - 3)}

EVALUATION

Here the given functions are

\displaystyle \sf{ g(x) =  \frac{x + 1}{x - 2}  }

\displaystyle \sf{ h(x) = 4 - x}

Now

\displaystyle \sf{ h( - 3) = 4 - ( - 3) = 4 + 3 = 7}

Thus we get

\displaystyle \sf{ (g \circ h)( - 3)}

\displaystyle \sf{  = g ( h( - 3))}

\displaystyle \sf{  = g (7)}

\displaystyle \sf{   =  \frac{7 + 1}{7 - 2} }

\displaystyle \sf{  =   \frac{8}{5} }
