If given responsibility of maintaining a clean environment or residential area .write initiatives taken

I was given the responsibility of keeping the environment clean around my residential area, a few days back. I considered it a monumental task and wondered how I was going to accomplish it. Keeping one’s own place clean takes lot of efforts, let alone a whole colony! I had no choice but to accomplish it just to prove that it could be done. It could even be set as an example for others to follow.

With such a motivation in mind, I started planning my steps to start the big task. My first step was to start a door to door campaign and talk to people about the necessity of keeping their own surrounding clean. I stressed the significance of each house doing their own bit in keeping the area around their property clean and without any litter. 

I started taking rounds in the early evenings to make sure the neighbours kept to their promise of maintaining a clean surrounding and followed it regularly too. Some of them needed some reminders and some encouragement while others had to be forced to see the light!

Alongside this initiative, I also collected some people and planted lot of saplings around our area for future benefits. I spoke to relevant people and drove home the point that whenever a tree was cut it had be replaced with new planting.

I went to my area Corporator to ensure that the public places were maintained well and kept clean too. I also made sure that all the civil services in our area were maintained well.

I have decided to continue my initiative to keep the surrounding areas around my residential colony clean and well maintained. I have also motivated my friends who live in the colony to help me in this initiative so we could set a good example for others.

If I was given the responsibility of maintaining a clean environment or residential area I will try to ensure that the Everyone will be throwing the wastes from the houses in to the dustbin and then transfer to other safer place where the waste will be decomposed. I see that none will Throw the waste from the home where ever they get place. I will se that none will even liter the streets by spitting or even just wastes from home. I will see that water will not be stagnated in one place by which there a lot increase in the mosquitoes and even the houseflies. I will even see that the residential area will be clean and even tidier than ever so that the people will not face problems like bad smell of the rotten wastes etc.
