If glycolysis is an important process during cellular respiration, then why doesn't the formula of cellular respiration, i.e,C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + 36 or 38 doesn't show the breakdown of glucose into pyruvate??

Answer: because in glycolysisthe breakdown of glucose to pyruvic acid is done withoutthe help of oxygen and it is basically occurin those organisms who are facultative anaerobics
