Hi ,

Given

quadratic equation 2x² + 7x = 4

2x² + 7x - 4 = 0

Compare 2x² + 7x - 4 = 0 with

ax² + bx + c = 0 we get

a = 2 , b = 7 , c = - 4

According to the problem given,

h and k are roots of the equation ,

h + k = - b /a

= - 7 / 2

hk = c /a

= ( - 4 ) / 2

= - 2

Discreaminant = b² - 4ac

= 7² - 4 × 2 × ( -4 )

= 49 + 32

= 81

I hope this helps you.
