27.4 kcal is answer !

13.7 kcal is already there in the reaction and we known reaction b/w strong acid and strong base gives 13.7 kcal so, adding both

We get ,

13.7+13.7=27.4 kcal

Given:

The equation - h+. + oh- = h2o +13.7

To Find:

Heat of complete neutralisation of one gram mole of h2so4

Solution:

The reaction of two protons with twp hydroxide ions is equivalent to the complete neutralisation of one gramme mole of H 2 SO 4 with the strong base.

If  h+. + oh- = h2o +13.7 then the heat of complete neutralisation of one gram mole of H2so4 with the strong base will be 27.4Kcal -

H2so4 ⇆ 2H+ + So2/4

2H+ + 2OH ⇆ 2H2O + 27.4

13.7 × 2

= 27.4

Answer: Heat of complete neutralisation of one gram mole of h2so4 is 27.4 Kcal
