If HCF of two numbers is 12, then the numbers will be considered as 12x and 12y.

LCM of 12x and 12y = 12xy. We need to find 12xy.

12x × 12y = 144xy = 1800n

xy = 1800n ÷ 144 = 12.5n

12xy = 12.5n × 12 = 150n

150n is the answer.

rahul3286019: answer is 900
shadowsabers03: Actually, 1800n means what?
rahul3286019: 1800 multiplied by a natural number n..and this is the product of two numbers whose hcf is given
shadowsabers03: Oh, if the two numbers are x and y, then xy = 1800n, right?
rahul3286019: yes
shadowsabers03: But the answer shouldn't be 900 only. The answer should be 150n. If the answer is 900, then n should be 6. It is not said here.
rahul3286019: ya
rahul3286019: how to solve answer to get 900
shadowsabers03: To get 900 as answer, the question should be like 'If HCF of two numbers is 12 and their product is 10800, find their LCM.'
shadowsabers03: Here, n = 6, 1800n = 1800 x 6 = 10800, and the answer is 150n = 150 x 6 = 900.
