Given : HCF ( X , 14) = 6, LCM (X, 14) = 28

To Find : Value of x

Solution:

HCF ( X , 14) = 6,

LCM (X, 14) = 28

HCF x LCM  =  X x 14

=> 6 x 28 =  X x 14

=> 6 x 2  = X

=> 12 = X

Value of X  = 12

Lets Verify :

12 = 2 x 2 x 3

14 = 2 x 7

HCF = 2

LCM = 2 x 2 x 3 x 7 = 84
