Complete Question :- A vegetable merchant gets a profit of 100 by selling a bag of onions and suffers a loss of 30

by selling a bag of potatoes. If he sells 30 bags of onions and 50 bags of potatoes on a particular day, find his total profit or loss.

Solution :-

→ Profit on selling a bag of onions = Rs.100

so,

→ Profit on selling 30 bag of onions = 100 * 30 = Rs.3000

and,

→ Loss on selling a bag of potatoes = Rs.30

→ Loss on selling 50 bag of potatoes = 30 * 50 = Rs.1500

now, let loss is denoted by negative number .

then,

→ Total profit or loss = 3000 + (-1500) = 3000 - 1500 = Rs.1500 (Ans.)
