What happens if Himalayas were not situated where they are now :

The Himalayas influence India's climate in many ways.

• These Himalayas act as the barriers protecting India from the cold winds of Central Asia.

• The Himalayas are the reason for the monsoons in India. As, they are beyond western ghats.

• If these Himalayas were not present there then the Northern Plains would have remained deserts.

• The Himalayas are home for many perennial rivers. Like Ganga, Brahmaputra, Indus etc..

• These rivers bring a lot of silt and deposit in plains which makes them fertile.

• If Himalayas are not situated then India would have been a arid region and people would have starved for every thing.

We can tell that Himalayas are gift of India.
