Himalayas are the propellers of one of the most powerful rainfall (monsoon system) of the world.
In summer they stop the Southwest monsoon and thus cause heavy rainfall.
Without Himalayas, cold and moisture-less winds from Siberia,Central Asia and Gobi desert would enter the subcontinent owning to North East trade winds and Horse latitudes. Thus making the place a cool-dry desert with little or no vegetation.
Also the recial profile of India would be very different as there would be very strong Mangol attacks because no natural differences would have been present.
