BY PYTHAGORAS THEOREM WE KNOW THAT
(Hypotenuse)² = sum of square of two sides
so according to the question,
Hypotentuse = 10 cm
Base = 8 cm
Height = ?
In a ∆ there are three sides so hypotenuse and base is given but we need to find the height
(Hypotentuse)² = (Base)² + (Height)²
(10)² = (8)² + (Height)²
100 = 64 + (Height)²
100 – 64 = (Height)²
Height = √36
Height = 6cm
Now, according to the question we need to the area
Formula : 1/2 × Base × Height
Area = 1/2 × Base × Height
= 1/2 × 8 cm × 6 cm
= 1/2 × 48 cm²
= 24 cm²
So, the area is 24 cm².
