Step-by-step explanation:

Hypotenuse=5²=25

Base=3²=9

Height=?

Hypotenuse ²=base²+height ²

25=9+height²

25-9=height ²

16 = height ²

4 = height. (taking square)

Given -

  • ABC is a right angled triangle with

⇢ Hypotenuse = 5cm

⇢ Base = 3cm

To find -

  • Height of the triangle.

Solution -

Let us consider,

  • AC = Height
  • AB = Hypotenuse
  • BC = Base

As we know that, in a right triangle square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of squares of other two sides. [Pythagoras theorem]

According to the question

⟹ AB² = AC² + BC²

⟹ (5)² = AC² + (3)²

⟹ 25 = AC² + 9

⟹ AC² = 25 - 9

⟹ AC² = 16

⟹ AC = √16

AC = 4 cm

Hence,

  • Height of the triangle is 4cm.
