Question ::-

If I, b and h are the length, breadth and height of a room then what will be the total area of the four walls?

Given ::-

  • Length of room = a

  • Breadth of room = b

  • Height of room = h

To find ::-

  • Total area of four walls?

Solution ::-

Room has three dimensions , let the room be cuboid .

Area of four walls = lateral surface area

Lateral surface area

= 2× height ( length+ breadth )

= 2h (l+b)

___________

Let's explore more ::-

• CUBE ::-

  • Total Surface Area = 6 × side × side

  • Lateral Surface Area = 4 × side × side

• CUBOID ::-

  • Total Surface area = 2 (Length x Breadth + breadth x height + Length x height)

  • Lateral Surface area = 2 height(length + breadth)
