- The definition of a Miracle
- An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God
- People will consider, in general, the following events as miracles:
- Clairvoyance - the supposed faculty of perceiving things or events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact
- Levitate - rise or cause to rise and hover in the air, typically by means of supposed magical powers
- Walk on water
- Clairaudience - is the ability to perceive sounds or words from outside sources in the spirit world
- Ex Nihilo - Ability to produce out of thin air
- Reviving the dead persons - Some saints were quoted to have done
- Curing incurable diseases

- Yes, in common parlance, any one of the above actions can be termed as miracle. Consider the following incident.
- I would like to narrate the following incident that took place during 1930s in Madras, India.
- ———-
- Dr. Paul Brunton, a Jew by birth, came to India during 1930s, in search of a spiritual gaint with whom he would like to interact and learn something about Yoga/spirituality, as which could not be explained by his Western seers.
- While he was in Madras, he met an Yoga adept with name Brama. Though initially reluctant to disclose his methods of Yogic practises, Brama later reveals some of his secrets.
- At the request of Dr. Brunton, he told him to take his wrist and grip it where he can feel the flow of blood through his artery. Dr. Brunton obeyed his order. Within two or three minutes Dr. Brunton became aware that the curious rhythm which beats under his thumb is lessening. Soon it comes to a definite halt and that stoppage continued for 3 minutes..
- Then Yogi Brama asserted that he could even stop his breath and told to hold his hand flat under his nostrils. Brama closed his eyes; his body becomes statuesque in its steadiness. Very slowly, very evenly, the caress of his breath began to diminish. Ultimately it completely ceased.
- Dr. Brunton watched his nostrils and lips; examinehis shoulders and chest; but in no single case could he discover any external evidence of respiration. He placed a small polished brass dish under his nostrils for a while, and again in front of his lips. Its shining surface remains unmarred by any dullness or moisture. Dr. Brunton was astonished.
- Yogi Brama offered a theory for his achievement.
- "Is it not reasonable to believe, also, that the complete holding of the breath within one's body keeps life within us for so long as the breath is held, at least?"
- "We claim no more than that. We say that an adept in breath control, who can completely retain his breath at will, thereby retains his life current. Do you grasp that?"
- "Imagine, now, an adept in Yoga who can keep the locked breath, not merely for a few minutes as a curiosity, but for weeks, for months and even for years. Since you admit that where there is breath there must be life, do you not see how the prospect of prolonged life opens up for man?"

- Can we think the above incident as miracle? May be.
- Miracles are sometimes subjective also. Not everyone will be able to experience them. If we think some people can perform miracles, Yes it is possible. Otherwise not possible.
