Physics, asked by tejutrishaA, 7 months ago

if i get a negative potential difference does that mean that the current is flowing from low potential to high potential in a circuit. can current flow through low potential to high potential.
for instance if R1 is 4ohm and R2 is 20 ohm what is the potential difference across the R1 and R2.

I KINDLY REQUEST TO GIVE A COMPLETE EXPLANATION. HOPE I GET THE CORRECT ANSWER.
THANKYOU

Answer:

My friend, it is not possible to give -ve potential if that happens it will charge the circuit. For ex- When you use your mobile the potential diffrence across the system is +ve and it consumes all your battery to give maximum current output but when your mobile is dead and you have to charge it the potential voltage of mobile becomes-ve in compare to your electric board potential. Let suppose in a switch board the potential is 1v and the mobile potential is 0.03V it will charge until both potential differenses equalises that is 1v to get your mobile charged upto 100%only.After it does not charge because net potential for both system becomes 0.So, it is not possible to get -ve potential. It only possible in galvanic cells(Electrolysis cells).
