Answer:

Pressure is force per unit area . If you apply a force of 10 N on an area of 10 square metre , the pressure is 1 N per square metre . If you apply the same force on an area of 1 square metre , the pressure is 10 N per square metre . So , for the same force , if the area decreases , the pressure increases .
