If i push something and it doesn't move where does the energy go?

Pushing in itself is not work, it is force. For humans to push something it takes work, because of how our muscles work. It is kind of like pushing on a wall with a water hose, the wall doesn't move, but there is a lot of work going in to moving around the water. It is the same with muscles, pushing hard on an "immovable" object will generate a bunch of heat in your muscles, but does no work on the object.
