while going to Pune Time taken (T1)=2½ hrs

Distance (D1)=150 km

V1=D1/T1

V1=150/2½

V1=150/(5/4)

V1=(150×5)/4

V1=750/4

V1=187.5 km/hr

while returning from Pune

Time taken (T2) =3½hrs

Distance (D2)= 180 km

V2=D2/T2

V2=180/3½

V2=180/(7/2)

V2=(180×2)/7

V2=360/7

V2=51.428

V2=51.43km/hr

Avg velocity = (V1 +V2)/2

Avg velocity = (187.5+51.43)/2

Avg velocity = 238.93/2

Avg velocity = 119.465km/hr
