If I wish to train for long-distance running, would a morning jog of 104strides per day adequate? Are you thinking, how many strides make a kilometer or a meter? Why don’t you find that out!

To find:

How many strides make a meter or a kilometer?

Step-by-step explanation:

According to trusted sources, one stride can be an average of 5 feet, i.e., 60 inches.

We know that, 1 inch = 0.0254 m

Then, one stride

= 60 × 0.0254 m

= 1.524 m

Now, 1 m

= 1 ÷ 1.524 stride

= 0.66 stride (approximately)

Then, 1 km

= 1000 m

= 0.66 × 1000 strides

= 660 strides

Part 1 answers:

  1. 1 meter = 0.66 stride
  2. 1 kilometer = 660 strides

Again, to find adequacy of running 104 strides

We have found, 1 stride = 1.524 m

Then, 104 strides = 104 × 1.524 m = 158.496 m

For long-distance running, 158.496 m is inadequate.

Note:

Though it seems an inadequacy, but that short length is not a bad start. But in time, one must increase that distance.
