South pole is not at the bottom of the earth - it is only at the bottom of the world maps. The bottom of the maps not same as the bottom of the Earth.

Unfortunately, this "upward displacement effect" is what's causing Antarctica's polar beer population to plummet. As the ice lifts, the beers get closer to the sun, which is a bad thing since they're naturally albino (the beers, not the sun).
