If in a exothermic reaction energy is released in the form of heat because of mass difference so why only small amount of heat is evolved? According to e= mc^2

it is depend on reaction some reaction are highly produced heat and some not

So much heat is released that the solution may boil very violently, splashing concentrated acid out of the container and all this because the reaction is exothermic.
