if in a frequency distribution , the mid value of a class interval is 10 and the width of the class interval is 6 . find the upper limit of the class interval

Solution :

Given mid value = x = 10

class width ( h ) = 6

Lower limit = x - h/2

= 10 - 6/2 = 10 - 3 = 7

Upper limit = x + h/2

= 10 + 6/2

= 10 + 3

= 13

Therefore ,

class interval : 7 - 13

lower limit = 7

upper limit = 13

mid value =a=10
