If in a pump discharge is halved then what will happen to head pump head decrease with flow rate.A lower velocity will causes lower pipe pressure drop and fitting pressure drop. Therefore, the head of a pump decreases also. ... As the head that the pump has to work against goes down, the volume that it discharges goes up (for a centrifugal pump at a given speed).
