GIVEN :-

  • In a trapezium the length of a parallel sides are equal.

TO FIND :-

  • The Area of the trapezium.

SOLUTION :-

☛ Let Parallel sides are a and b

✒ In the question it is given that, the length of a parallel sides are equal . so we can write that,

a = b.

Now Area of trapezium = 1/2 (sum of || sides) × h.

➬ 1/2 (a + b) × h.

☛ If The parallel sides are equal then we can write 'b' as 'a'.

➬ 1/2 (a + a) × h

➬ 1/2 × 2a × h

➬ a × h

ah.

Hence the area of trapezium will be = ah or bh.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-

Trapezium :- it is a 2D shape quadrilateral , which has two parallel sides and two non parallel sides .

Types of Trapezium :-

Scalene trapezium .

isosceles trapezium .

Answer:

Area of trapezium = (1/2)h(a+b)

Given a=b

Then area = h×a

i.e.,height × length of any one side
