Given :  in every 5 mins 10 cannons fire 3 cannon balls to hit 270 targets in 1(1/2) hr

To Find : how many targets can be hit in 1 hour by 25 cannons firing 5 cannonballs in every 6 mins

Solution:

every 5 mins 10 cannons fire 3 cannon balls

=>  every 5 mins  cannon balls = 10 x 3

=> every 5 mins  cannon balls = 30

=> every 1 mins  cannon balls = 30/5

=> every 1 mins  cannon balls = 6

1(1/2) hr = 90 mins

=> every 90 mins  cannon balls = 90 x 6 = 540  cannon balls

Target Hots = 270

Ratio of target hit = 270/540 = 1/2

25 cannons firing 5 cannonballs in every 6 mins

every 6 mins 25 cannons fire 5 cannon balls

=>  every 6 mins  cannon balls =25 x 5

=> every 6  mins  cannon balls = 125

=> every 1 mins  cannon balls = 125/6

=> every 60 mins  cannon balls = 60 x  125/6

=> every 60 mins  cannon balls = 1250

Ratio of target hit =  1/2

=> Target Hits  = 1250/2

= 625
