If resistances is converted into single resistor, it is called as

Equivalent Resistance.

So the equivalent resistance in this case will be

1st

We can see that 6 ohm and 6 ohm are in parallel.

So, 1/6+1/6=1/3

So, the parallel resistance is 3 ohm.

2nd

Now, we can see that 3 ohm and 6 ohm are in series.

So,

3 ohm+ 6ohm = 9 ohm.

Answer is 9 ohm as Equivalent Resistance.

Rp=12/36=3

3 ohm and 6 ohm are in series

Rs= 3+6=9 ohms
