Question :-- If increasing 20 by P percentage gives

the same result as decreasing 60 by P percentage, what is P percentage of 70 ?

Solution :--

it is given that ,

20 + P% of 20 = 60 - P% of 60

or, we can say that,

→ P% of 20 + P% of 60 = 60 - 20

→ (P*20/100) + (P*60/100) = 40

→ 20P + 60P = 40*100

→ 80P = 4000

Dividing both sides by 80 now,

P = 50 %

So,

P % of 70 = 70*50/100 = 35 (Ans).

Hence, P% of 70 is 35.

P% of 20+ P% of 60 = 60-20

P+20/100+ P × 60/100 = 40

20P + 60P = 40× 100

80P = 4000

{\textsf{Dividing both side by 80} }

P= 50%

So,

P% of 70 = 70× 50/100

= {\boxed{\bf{35}}}
