If India is secular country then, why is it called HINDUSTAN?

on is a secular country and was known as Hindustan because before Britishers there were only hindus in india so india is also known as Hindustan

India is a secular nation.

Secular : the government of India respects all the religions without any discrimination.

We r enjoying that .
But the major portion of India constitute Hindus from the very initial stage.
Our ancestors are Hindus who developed various books and ethics on Hinduism. Hence obviously we call it as Hindustan.
Hindustan is a nation which constitute myriad religions.
