As you know that India was considered to be economically very prosperous which attracted the colonial people to invade in India but during that time India was politically weak. The rulers of India instead of being united they were fighting with each other. Indian ruler could have avoided invasion by being united with other king and kingdoms. If Indian rulers of that time had proper structure of society if they were nationalists, if they have technically advanced ministry and military they could have prevented invasion but there was lack of all of these things that lead the colonial power gain complete control over India.
