Answer:

Perimeter=64m,. breath=12m. area=240m²

let breath be 'b' and lenth be 'l'

l=20m

Fencing the park is done at the perimeter

therefore, 2(l+b)=$1600

since, $25/m

therefore, 1m costs $25

so, perimeter=$1600/$25

=64

2(l+b)=64

2(20+b)=64

40+2b=64

2b=24

b=12

area=l×b

=12×20

=240m²

Step-by-step explanation:

total cost to fence a rectangular park = $1600

cost per metre to fence the park = $25

so, perimeter of the park = total cost / cost per metre

= 1600/25 = 64 m

As we know that,

perimeter of rectangle =

2( length+ breadth)

= 2(l+b) = 64

l+b = 32

Breadth = 32 - 20. ( Length = 20m - given)

= 12 m.

As we know that,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

= 20 ×12 = 240 sq. metre
