Others have the connections right, I just want to add a safety tip.

An ammeter is a short circuit (very low impedance), and as people have noted, it is to be connected in series between the source and the load. If an ammeter is connected in parallel (shunt) it will short the circuit, may blow the fuse in the ammeter and/or damage the ammeter.

A volt meter is an open circuit (very high impedance), and is connected across the source or load. Voltmeters may affect the circuit slightly, but will not likely cause damage. If a voltmeter is connected in series with a source or load, it will measure the source voltage, but no current will flow and the circuit will not operate.

The +/- terminals of either meter just indicate the direction of current or voltage with respect to the meter terminal labels. This is less of an issue than connecting the meter in shunt or series.
