No: of rabbits + chickens = 45
R + C = 45..........(i)

Rabbit has 4 legs, while chicken has 2 legs

Given total legs count = 140
4R + 2C = 140.....(ii)

(i) multiplied by '2'== 2R + 2C =90...(iii)
(ii)-(iii) = 2R = 50
R = 25
Hence number of rabbits = 25
Hope it helps
