So d = (k-6) - (k+9) -----eq(1)

also,

d = (4) - (k-6) --------eq(2)

From eq(1) and eq(2) we get,

(k-6) - (k+9) = (4) - (k-6)

---> k-6-k-9 = 4-k+6 {by opening brackets}

---> -15 = -k+10

---> k = 10+15

---> k = 25

Therefore the required value of k is 25.
