the total number of electrons will be 10 . And its valency is 8

adityasudhiroylals: Valency or combining capacity of an element is maximum no. Of electrons in valence shell - no. Of electrons present

K shell’s capacity = 2 electrons
L shell’s capacity = 8 electrons
Therefore total electrons are 10
as the valence shell is fully filled this is an inert element and its valence is zero.
