So, x + y = 1750   ……eq(1)

Also, given that;

4∕25 of K's share is equal to 2∕5 of M's share

i.e., (4/25) of x = (2/5) of y

   => (4/25)x = (2/5)y

   => 2x/5 = y

   => x = 5y/2

Solving eq(1),

x + y = 1750

5y/2 + y = 1750

5y + 2y = 3500

7y = 3500

 y = 500

Therefore, the number of balls M has = y = 500
