If the kinetic energy of a particle is doubled the deBroglie wavelength decreases by a 1/ \sqrt{2} units.

Explanation:

Debroglie wavelength=h/mv   h= Planck's constant, m is the mass of the particle, v is the velocity of particle moving.

DeBroglie's equation

λ = h/mv

also Kinetic energy is given by

E = p^2/(2m)    p the momentum and p=mV

So from the above equation we can conclude that p is proportional to \sqrt{KE}

Also, seeing from DeBroglie equation we found that

wavelength is decreased by 1/ \sqrt{2} units.
