here k is proportional constant

as given in the ques l = 6 and m = 4. Put these values in eq 1

6 = k/√4

k = 6√4

k = 6 * 2

k = 12

now we know the value of k i.e.12

to find m when l is 4 put the value of l and k in eq 1

4 = 12/√m

√m = 12/4

√m = 3

m = 3^2

m = 9

Hence your answer is 9
