We have to find the value of the missing variable in each case.

Solution,

We can simply find the value of the missing variables with the given condition i.e. l║m.

(5) It is given that l║m, pair of alternate interior angles are equal, then

  9x +2 = 119

        9x = 119-2

        9x = 117

          x = 117/9

          x = 13

(6) It is given that l║m, then the sum of co-interior angles is equal to 180 degrees.

    12x-8 + 104 = 180

         12x + 96 = 180

                  12x = 180-96

                  12x = 84

                    x = 7

(7)  It is given that l║m, then the pair of alternate exterior angles are equal.

      5x +7 = 8x-71

      5x-8x = -71-7

          -3x = -78

            x = 26

(8)  It is given that l║m, then pair of corresponding angles are equal.

     4x -7 = 7x-61

     4x-7x = -61+7

          -3x = -54

            x = 18

  6x-7+3x-29 = 180

           9x -36 = 180

                 9x = 180 +36
