Answer:

OR

(i) 2πrh = 94.2 ⇒ 2 × 3.14 × r × 5 = 94.2 ⇒ r = 94. 2/ 2x 3.14x 5 = 3 Hence, base radius of the cylinder = 3 cm Ans. (ii) Volume of the cylinder = π r2h = 3.14 × 3 × 3 × 5 cm3 = 141.3 cm3

Given :-

Lateral surface of the cylinder = 94.2 cm²

Height of the cylinder = 5 cm

To Find :-

The radius of its base.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • h = Height
  • r = Radius
  • CSA = Curved surface area

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Curved \ surface \ area \ of \ cylinder=2 \pi rh}}

Given that,

CSA = 94.2 cm²

Height (h) = 5 cm

Substituting their values,

2πrh = 94.2

2 × 3.14 × r × 5 = 94.2

31.4 × r = 94.2

r = 94.2/31.2

r = 3

Therefore, the radius is 3 cm.
