Step-by-step explanation:

L=1.5CM

B=50CM

TSA=5.5SQ

        =5.5/(100*100)

          =0.0005CM

TSA=2(LB+BH+LH)

Given:-

  • Length of the cuboid = 1.5 cm
  • Height of the cuboid = 50 cm
  • Surface Area (or Total Surface Area) of cuboid = 5.5 m²

To Find:-

  • The breadth of the cuboid.

Solution:-

We are given with the length, height and surface are of the cuboid.

Length = 1.5 cm

Height = 50 cm

TSA = 5.5 m²

Here we can see that the units are not same. Hence we need to convert all the units into m.

We know,

1 cm = 1/100 m

Length = 1.5 cm = 1.5/100 m = 0.015 cm

Also,

Height = 50 cm = 50/100 = 0.5 cm

We know,

Total Surface Area of a cuboid = 2(LB + BH + HL) sq.units.

Hence,

5.5 = 2(0.015 × B + B × 0.5 + 0.015 × 0.5)

=> 5.5 = 2(0.015B + 0.5B + 0.0075)

=> 5.5/2 = 0.515B + 0.0075

=> 2.75 = 0.515B + 0.0075

=> 2.75 - 0.0075 = 0.515B

=> 2.7425 = 0.515B

=> B = 2.7425/0.515

=> B = 5.33 cm [Approx]

Therefore the breadth of the cuboid is 5.33 cm.
